Catalyst Public Relations Account Executive Tom Renner, formerly of Bethel, was recognized with six awards, including three first-place prizes.
His work won first place in the “Media Pitch,” “Specialty Articles – ghost-written for someone else,” and “Specialty Articles – green/environmental” categories.
His specialty article on an elaborate water retrieval process in Las Vegas on behalf of The BILCO Company was published in Civil & Structural Engineer.
The ghost-written article, on behalf of igus, based in Providence, R.I., was published in Dry Bulk magazine and detailed how the company’s products are helping minimize machine downtime in the cargo transportation industry. The award for the media pitch also related to the same project for igus.
“Tom’s background as a journalist consistently delivers for our clients,” Catalyst President Melissa LoParco said. “He knows what editors are looking for and how to get them exactly what they need, and this translates into great media coverage for our clients.”
Additionally, Renner won second place in the “Specialty Articles – green/environmental” category and third place in the “Media Pitch” category, both on behalf of BILCO, and received an honorable mention in the “Media – News or feature release, single release” category, for a project with igus.
The CT Press Club competition includes 61 categories and work was judged by professionals with corresponding expertise. The competition was open to anyone who lives or works in Connecticut and work had to have been published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2019.
